Safety
John Burns Construction Company has a Safety and Health program in order to provide a safe work environment for its employees and all individuals supporting the John Burns Construction mission. John Burns Construction places a strong commitment on Safety and Health as a cost effective, productive and humane way to improve the quality of work and the skill of our workers.
Through pre-construction planning activities our employees take ownership of and are responsible for safety on site. Project specific "Safe Work Plans" are completed and discussed prior to commencement of all jobs. Site safety meetings are then conducted and documented by all field crews. The project team, with participation from the safety department, jointly conducts safety activities on all active sites. The John Burns executive team reviews all incidents monthly, and then implements all lessons learned quarterly to ensure continued success & growth of the program.
John Burns Construction Company invests in training, and believes that it is the cornerstone of a successful Safety and Health Program. There is an extensive annual training curriculum in place and all employees are required to attend New-Hire Orientation, 10 hour OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry as well as annual CPR/First Aid. Tenured JBCC employees are also trained in operation specific safety subjects & through training initiatives derived from lessons learned.
